RECITAL INFORMATION

There is only one show approximately 2.5 hours in length. A specific schedule will be available as we get closer to the event. The actual line-up information will be sent out to students as the date approaches.

  • Each year’s recital will be held in early June at Suffield High School, Suffield CT.

  • A recital ticket must be purchased for any dance student who wishes to watch the show when they are not performing. Children 3 years and under who can sit on a lap do not need a ticket. Recital tickets will be available for purchase through an online ticketing service. Families will receive email notification of the start date for ticket sales. Tickets are reserved seating and are approximately $18-$24 depending on the seat.

  • Students must have their costumes covered by a jacket, shirt, robe, or other item at all times except during their actual performance.

  • Arrive an hour prior to the recital start time.

  • Video and flash photography are not allowed during the recital performance. This is for the safety of the performers and for courtesy to the other audience members. A professional videographer will record the recital so our TDSA families can keep the memory of this special day forever! A digital download of the recital video will be provided for free with the purchase of a recital ticket. (The link to the video will be emailed to each ticket buyer approximately 6-8 weeks after the recital date.)

RECITAL MAKE-UP TIPS

  1. Skin - Make sure face is clean and moisturized. Use a sponge to smooth on foundation (either powder or liquid) over entire face, eyelids, and under eye area, blending into the neck.

  2. Eyes - With an eye shadow brush, apply a brown eye shadow darkest at the lash line gradually fading up to the brow bone. Apply the same brown eye shadow lightly under lower lashes from the middle of the lash line out past the corner of the eye. For dancers 7 years old and up, apply black eyeliner along the entire top lash line and coat both the top and bottom lashes with black water-resistant mascara

  3. Cheeks - With a blush brush, apply a rosy-colored blush starting at hairline and pulling color forward to apples of the cheeks.

  4. Lips - Line the lips and fill in with dark pink or red lipstick.
